2022-2023 VANA Priorities

As we look at the busy year ahead, I would like to highlight my priorities for VANA. My goal is to make VANA a stronger organization for the next year, and I believe that this is the way to do it.
Outline and execute the VANA lobbying plan to advance CRNAs in Virginia
Working with our lobby team, we will do what we can to make sure Virginia has an environment that encourages CRNAs to practice here. We are looking at the next legislative session to see what can be achieved and we’ll be aggressive and smart in our decision making. Our mission is to make Virginia a more welcoming state that allows CRNAs to practice to their full education and training.
Project Engage VANA to increase participation and involvement of Virginia CRNAs within our organization
Did you know that there are more than 1,500 CRNAs that belong to VANA? And that there are more than 1,800 CRNAs practicing in the state? Over the next year we are going to work to better engage with our Virginia CRNAs. The more CRNAs that we have involved with VANA, the better off our profession is today and in the future.
Strengthen and Support VANA’s Committees
VANA has several committees that help make our organization what it is. But the key to making VANA strong is having people involved. Now’s your chance to get involved and have your voice heard. Increase VANA PAC donations
The VANA PAC serves to raise the visibility of CRNAs and the importance of the profession among candidates for state office who have taken responsible positions regarding quality healthcare and other issues of importance to CRNAs, regardless of their political affiliation. By donating to candidate events, CRNAs can attend candidate fundraising events and educate decision makers about policies that will improve Virginia’s healthcare landscape. I look forward to working with you all over the next year to make VANA even stronger than it is today. We’ve come a long way over the recent years, but we still have a lot of work to do. Let’s make this next year a time of growth and strengthened engagement to make VANA even better than it is today.
