New VANA Name
Over the past year, VANA leadership solicited member input on a proposal to follow the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) in changing our association name. VANA members had the opportunity to participate in a survey to provide detailed feedback on this proposal and to review the proposed bylaw amendment language addressing the name change.
The results were overwhelmingly supportive of changing the organization’s name from the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists to the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, and the Board of Directors approved the change based on membership input.
As of December 1, you’ll notice that this new name is reflected across the VANA website, in all VANA communications and on VANA social media channels. We hope you’re excited to see this update as we wind down 2025 and gear up for a busy and productive 2026.
