Session Overview and Learner Objectives:

This session will discuss the changes to CRNA practice in Virginia that now include prescriptive authority. At the conclusion of the lecture attendees will,
1. understand and discuss the regulatory language of SB1059/SB264 regarding CRNA prescription writing;
2. differentiate what medications fall under schedule II-IV;
3. discuss the Virginia State Prescription Monitoring Program and how to monitor for schedule I-V prescription writing; and
4. apply for a DEA number and the legal implications you assume.
